Two months ago, I participated in Disney World’s three-day Ohana Challenge—a 5K, a 10K, and a 10-miler for Runner’s World.

After those races, which I loved, I decided to train for a 10K. Then, I thought, “why am I doing this? I’m not a runner. I’m a writer. I’m a singer. I’m a mom. I’m a dancer and a runner. I’m a whole bunch of things, but not a runner.”
I stopped running for a few days and deleted my 10K training plan app.
Weirdly and unexpectedly, I missed running. Like an addict, I kept returning to the RunDisney page and the 2024-2025 race schedule.

Today, I started my training for the 2025 Dopey Challenge. I’m using the Nike Run Club app ( ❤️ Coach Bennett; he reminds me of a friend), the Galloway 29-Week Dopey Challenge Training Plan, and, of course, all of the very many Run/Walk Runner’s World training plans and stories.
